JULY – The months of June and July, like much of the summer has been spent in church camps, Vacation Bible Schools, and speaking to churches on Sunday and Wednesday. This is the reason we come to the States every other summer. Jesus tells us that the harvest fields are ready for harvest. This is true in Ukraine, and we are told to pray for workers and to send out workers, but have you ever wondered how this is actually accomplished? How can the church in America know what to pray for in Ukraine? How can young people become motivated and excited about world missions? The culture around us tells us what things it would like for us to value, but God’s Word often leads us in a different direction and gives us a different set of directions to shape our lives. We feel it is important to challenge young people to consider the mission field or the ministry as a career choice. Being in church camp or VBS gives us an opportunity to not just tell about “our” lives on the mission field, but to also challenge new workers for God’s harvest field. Our church, and especially our youth, are continually hearing the voice of the world that tells them the very opposite of what our Lord tells us is important in life:
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
